About The Event

Welcome to Crumbletown, a village on the edge of disaster. Meet Jack, Silly Billy and Dame Dolly Trott as they fight to save the village from the evil Giant Blunderbore and his wicked henchman Fleshcreep.   Joined by King Crumble, Princess Apricot Crumble and the hopeless Crumbletown police, will Jack climb the beanstalk, steal the giant’s gold and save the Village from being destroyed.   Filled with catchy songs, colourful costumes and hilarious characters, Jack and the Beanstalk is the perfect family Panto for all the family.

JACK TROTT (M/F)  Principal Boy. A good hearted but slightly dim farm boy. Very naïve and far too easily trusting.

SILLY BILLY (M/F)  Comic. Older brother to Jack. Probably a little smarter and wiser than Jack. Sees the bright side in every situation.

DAME DOLLY TROTT (M)  Traditional Pantomime Dame. Mother To Jack and Billy. Rather quick tempered and at sometimes over emotional. Never too busy to flirt with the men in the audience.

PRINCESS APRICOT CRUMBLE (F)  Principal Girl. The Kings daughter. Feisty and always looking for a way to help other. She’s certainly no damsel in distress.

QUEEN/KING CRUMBLE (M/F)  Slightly wet, kind and understanding but will always let people walk all over him. Let’s his daughter get all her own way, often for the better.

PC KENNY CLOAK (M/F)  A Crumbletown Policeman. Very slow and stupid.

PC DANNY DAGGER (M/F)  A Crumbletown Policeman. The foil to Cloak.

FLESHCREEP (M)  The Giants Henchman. Slimy and creepy. Absolutely loves to be bad.

GARDINIA, THE GRADEN FAIRY (F)  The good fairy lost most of her magic due to a run in with the Giant but will do everything in her power to ensure good wins over evil.

Like the Wizard of Oz, this Giant isn’t all he is chalked up to be.

The Giant’s unwilling butler.

All played by ensemble members.

PADOS is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we welcome applications from all members of the community.  We would particularly encourage applications from people who are currently under-represented within our Society.   The audition will consist of a read-through of the script with a chance to read parts you're interested in.

The PADOS panto is fun for the cast as well as the audience and always a crowd-pleaser, it's a pleasure to be involved.

There will be 13 performances in total over 3 weekends in November & December.  You should be able to commit to all of these dates which will be explained at the audition.
